Our Story


The Acuity story began over twenty years ago when our founder and Managing Director, Lee Whelan, building on his experience in management accounting and IT, saw an opportunity to help businesses manage their accounting functions more effectively. Having been joined by Steve Fuller, our Operations Director, Acuity rapidly grew into a multi-functional accounting practice with its own IT Division.


Twenty years heritage in delivering solutions


Working in partnership with our growing customer base as an accountancy firm it soon became apparent that our customers increasingly wanted to manage accounting in-house, whilst many had additional operational requirements.

Researching the market for solutions that could meet our customers’ needs, we came across Sage, one of the leading suppliers of business solutions. A hugely successful international business in its own right, Sage had the portfolio we and our customers needed to build our own successful businesses.

As such, Acuity moved away from being a pure accounting services provider to become a provider of complete hardware and software solutions which could meet a much wider range of business needs.

Since becoming a total solutions provider we have continued to grow and are now one of only seven Strategic Sage Partners in the UK, providing the full set of solutions across Sage’s product portfolio. Not only that but with the acquisition of Sabis in 2011 we significantly developed our overseas client base, and are now Sage’s premier International Partner in the UK.


Where we are now


We have now been a Sage Partner for over 20 years, have grown to 60 employees and have over 400 customers. We are also one of the few Sage Partners capable of taking customers all the way along the Sage product portfolio journey, from single sites, to large multinational implementations.

With our robust solution delivery methodology and our customer centric corporate culture we help our customers to achieve their business goals. Along the way we are proud to have achieved the accolade of Sage Accpac Business Partner of the Year, Sage X3 Business Partner of the year, as well as receiving Sage’s Circle of Excellence award in recognition of the success of our approach.

As 2015 came to a close we became the first Platinum Global Business Partner in the newly formed Global Partner Program.
